The Dog Park is wonderful! My two dogs love going there at least two times a week. We live about 6 miles from there so it is a quick trip and well worth the membership each year. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the gate area is not kept as clean as it should be kept. I have stopped at the gate 3 times this year and ask the guard to radio one of the Rangers to clean the gate area. In my opinion - each morning a Ranger should take some bleach and water and clean the gate area. At times, I think it has been 4 - 6 days since the gate area has been cleaned.
This was a very nice state park. The spots are huge. We had a basic site but there were very nice restrooms and a laundry. Some of the full hookup sites were beautiful and will definitely try to stay here again and get one of those sites. This park is right in Denver so is close to everything.
I love to bring my kids here. We usually go to swim beach. There are 2 boat docks that I am aware of, both easily accessible with a marina located just off the entrance of dam road. This lake is for swimming, tubing and jet ski if you ask me. We've never caught anything in this lake even though they say it contains fish. Have fun, this lake is is for fun!!
Love love love this park! Very beautiful! I came across a male and female deer on my hike and I can't believe how close they let me get lol I wish I had my camera with me! Oh well you'll just have to go check out the wildlife yourself! Very peaceful park! Great trails and great for bikers. There's a shooting range and place to fly your planes too! Campers have nice restrooms to shower and also do their laundry!
We had a great day just walking around the lake and seeing the few people with their dogs out on the paths. Very calm and quiet. We skipped stones!! We paid $9 for an all day parking permit but I bet you don’t need to.
